I head straight into regular food after a 48 or 72 hour fast.
If it’s your first 48 hour fast I would be careful that you’re near a bathroom, but many don’t have any issues after 48 hours.
I generally try to prioritize high nutrition after a fast, as you’re providing the building blocks for new, happy cells :)
My opinion only, but start with some plain high quality yogurt (least sugar as possible), then some scrambled eggs. Option is to drink good bone broth instead of yogurt. Load up on protein until dinner.
I ended my first and only 48 hour fast with Chipotle and regretted it for days.
I am currently in a 46 hour fast and have learned from my mistakes: I will break it with a simply dressed salad + lots of avocado. An hour or two later, I’ll eat a real meal!
Protein, fibre, and probiotics are a great way to break a fast. Eggs, yogurt, kefir, jerky, veggies with hummus or sour cream dip. Avoid naked carbs like bread. Some people don’t do well breaking with lots of high fat like cheese, but it’s fine for others.
