Today was my 1st day of OMAD. I had two soy lattes to keep me going (yes I know the soy breaks the fast) but it’s the consistency and challenging myself. The mental clarity just from one day is incredible! I am noticing how my body responds to food VERY quickly, foods that I normally would have quite salty is too salty for me now. I also got my sweet carb tooth under control, I feel younger and more alive (just two weeks in) because I’m really taking care of my health. SW 62.8kg CW 59kg = 2.8kg loss. I weigh in next Monday so hoping it’s a steady loss.
Was out of town over the weekend, ate poorly and didn’t stick to my schedule. Gained five pounds!
When I got back I fasted for 21 hours, have been following an 18:6 schedule. Down 6 pounds this morning.
I’m like a friggin’ yo-yo here.
Yay! I made it to 105 hours into my 120+ hour fast.
I sort of woke up without the alarm and just am super alert. Sleep is not too bad. It seems like at this point, I can function pretty well without an excessive amount of sleep. When I stopped fasting for a month, I felt groggy and tired all the time even though I was sleeping way more.
Flat stomach is back in the mornings, clothes fit loosely and comfortably again. Just really happy to get back into the groove of fasting.
Type water, tea, black coffee, lemon juice (for oxalate dumps) and LMNT
Context started my fast Saturday night, ends Friday morning/afternoon
Length 120+ hours
Why? Gut rest, autophagy, mental clarity and vanity
Notes I’m just happy to get started with fasting again. After this extended fast, I’ll probably transition into a mostly OMAD pattern with maybe a 42 hour fast once or twice a week depending on how I feel and what my diet looks like.
Dirty fast including coffee w little cream and little sugar. Day 14. Did 16:8 yesterday. I keep slipping up and having a couple glasses of wine. It’s a huge improvement from my usual 3-5 a night to go to 2. Most nights I don’t drink at all. I say that’s an improvement but it made my weight fluctuate this morning, I guess water weight. It’s a marathon not a sprint, reminding myself. Plus I feel more confident and healthy now even if I’ve lost only a very small amount of weight. Yesterday I felt so proud when I reached the same lowest number for a second day. I’m going to think about that rather than todays number
