Type: water and black coffee

Context and length: 14 hours into an attempted 24 hour fast

Why: Weight loss. I am trying to flex my fasting “muscle” and go longer than my usual 16 or 18 hour fast. My eventual goal is to regularly do 30/16 which is essentially OMAD but switching between lunch one day, dinner the next, lunch the next etc.

Notes: going well so far but as I approach 2 PM, when I would usually break my fast, I anticipate some challenges. I made my daughter’s pedatrician appointment at 2:15 so from 2-3 I will be totally occupied. Then I have a list of other things to keep me busy until dinner: do a face mask, shower, hang in the yard with baby. Once my husband is home I’ll drive to the ATM, drop off some donations, then dinner will take 30 or so minutes to cook!

If I don’t make it the full 24 hours today, that’s OK and I will try again today into tomorrow.

currently on hour 17 of an 18 fast and feeling amazing. really need to reset my body, gut health, and empty out my colon to the max as we go move into spring. this is my 3rd fast and i’m surprised at how easyyyy it is. feeling so light, clear headed. esp knowing the “hunger pangs” and “growling” are my body healing and clearing out my digestive track not actual hunger. about to do a workout and break with some green juice 🙏
