Checking in for the first time SW 247, CW 236 GW <200 (then we’ll see) 5’11” 47 yrs Type: Doing 16:8 TRE but also restricting calories (without counting them too much -roughly following Fast 800 low carb diet initially, may go to 5:2 later. Day 21.
Why? I’m from the UK and have done IF on and off since 2019 with yo-yo weight loss on/off. But after Christmas felt heavy, unhealthy and unhappy, no energy etc. Want to make a sustainable change.

Biggest change this time is going alcohol free so far. Seems to be helping in a big way. Was drinking too much and now my sleep and other health benefits are really different. For example, heart rate has dropped from 70 to under 60 without any fitness work. Not planning to go alcohol free forever but having reluctantly “borrowed” a booze free life for a while I don’t really want to give it back yet.

Want to get back into running (used to run 20+ miles a week) but want to be lighter on my feet first.

Fasting from food 18 hours or more and eating between 6 to 4 hours a day, four hours a day is tough cause I can’t eat that much in a meal if it’s a 20 hour plus kinda Fasting day.

Regular start fasting 8pm and end the following day at 2pm on my work lunchbreak.

Once a week I plan to do a 20 hour fast Friday into Saturday. Interestingly during the work week 19 hour fasts happen when it gets busy.

Third weigh in yesterday lost 2 pounds and at 169.8 from 176 on 2/2/23 and happy with the progress. Clothes fit looser, energy is good all day no crashes.

Started 176 pounds, goal is around 145 pounds and leaner around my belly area.

Started exercising yesterday, pushups, pull ups, squats, rows like I used to do.

I am doing 18:6 with a 1400 calorie limit. My fasting hours are 5:30 pm-11:30 AM. I only drink water and black coffee in that time. I fast those hours every day even weekends. I’ve been IF for about a month now but just added the calorie limit last week.

I was very thin my entire life until I had my second kid. She’s 2 now and up until recently I still weighed as much as I did a week post birth (like 180 and I’m 5’6” I was 140 when I got pregnant due to COVID weight. Normal weight 129). Im down to 170 and my first goal is 150. Ultimate goal is 130.

This may not be the right place for this but I have a question. Can I do a 16:8 fast while on a 1500 calorie diet? I am guessing I would eat my 1500 cal in that 8 hour window but I want to be sure. I have been doing just 1500 cal for 1 month now but am thinking about added IF to it

I lost 2 lbs and gained back 3 lbs since start date.
Plan is to cut beer completely and increase steps.
