26hrs into a 48+hr fast!

Last week I completed my first 61 hr fast, which I was super proud of and went from 214lb to 211! I felt really excited and seemed to be keeping most of the weight off while doing OMAD from thursday until yesterday. I was pumped to try another 60ish hr fast this week, ideally starting at ~212lbs to build upon last week’s progress.

However, I forgot to weigh myself yesterday, so it’s hard to tell if maybe it’s just a weird fluctuation, but I weighed in at 214.4 this morning and felt really bummed. It’s basically the weight I started at last week before my fast, so I feel like I just undid the weight I lost :( Plus, getting to 211lbs marks 10lbs of weight loss and hitting that milestone made me feel really good so going backwards right after that feels especially demotivating. I’m really hoping it’s water/waste weight and am eager to weigh myself tomorrow morning, but I feel like I’m pretty in tune with how much weight fluctuates day to day now and this feels quite high.. We shall see! I will keep pushing through, likely to Thursday afternoon if not just until Thanksgiving dinner and hope for the best.

Day 23: been maintaining 16-18 hour daily fasts and then two 24-hour fasts per week for the last 3+ weeks. Weight loss isn’t what I was hoping.

I use happy scale and my milestones are 2.6lb chunks. I was supposed to hit the first milestone on the 18th, but everyday after logging my weigh-in, it changes milestone one to “tomorrow”. Now I’m hoping to hit it tomorrow, the 24th. 😞

My husband says it’s because I’m not exercising and never leave the house (I WFH so the only time I get out is grocery shopping or hanging out at the local pub with him - drinking soda water ofc - day 24 of no beer). I have a full weight and plate set/squat rack and a nice stationary bike with a peloton app subscription and do miss working out. However, I’ve been suffering from chronic hip pain and my shots have already worn off - still no diagnosis. It makes everything painful. He mentioned going for a walk but it’s been so cold lately. Also, last time I went for a walk I got bit by a dog and thought I was going to get attacked so I’m still a little spooked by that incident. Anyways, just needed to vent some today.

Halfway into 24 hr water/coffee/tea fast. Will end at dinner this evening around 7:30 pm. Not doing for weight loss but for health. Hoping a particular ache in back goes away. Heading to gym for light workout.

Yesterday I felt hunger pangs at the end of my fasting window, which I haven’t felt in a long time. That tells me I’m on the right track!

I’m going to weigh-in once a month. Otherwise, I’ll obsess over it. The “mirror test” works better for me.
