Day 20 of 40 on water fast

Check in: SW 233, CW 198

The past few days have been rough until I started supplementing with a multivitamin. Intaking 1-2 tsp of sodium and 1 tsp of potassium per day. Also 250 mg of chelated magnesium per day. I have continued to exercise nearly every day in the form of calisthenics and jiu jitsu. Spiritually it has been very enlightening and challenging on my discipline.

Answer

I get the long term water fasting, that’s awesome.

But bro, doing jujutsu in the middle of it? It sounds kinda dangerous to be honest. Yoga, slow movement exercises, etc are fine, but something like martial arts? How are you not passing out??

Contrast: I do Muay Thai. When I fast for just two days and then go to a practice, I have about 50% of the energy and endurance I normally do. I went after a three day fast once, and spent a lot of the session gasping for air and clutching my chest, trying really hard not to black out in the ring even doing light sparring (nope, never again). I won’t do martial arts after 2+ days of water fasting anymore (instead do yoga, light calisthenics, etc). If I’m going for more than 2+ days, I won’t get back into the ring until I’ve broken my fast earlier with 1-2 light meals, and then things are pretty on track again.

I mean, if it’s working, godspeed… but dear god please be careful.
