fasting and mental-financial implications

Hi there, i have a quick question. What do you do while fasting?

Here’s my background for asking this question.

Back in 2019, I’ve water fasted several times, sometimes for several days in a row sometimes upto to 2 weeks. I followed snake diet protocols. So quitting food is fine for me.

I was working as a developer at the time. My work was strenous, boring, yet requiring to be creative and problem solving. While fasting my brain just couldnt stop imagining about food every time i try to think something. Every path leads me to thoughts of food. I couldnt work at all. It has been very stressfull event and i actually become a underperformer in job because i stuck to fasting. (And yes i did quit in 2020 end.)

Now i havent returned to fasting till now due to this fear. Do you people experience this too? How to face this?

I believe fasting could be done only when you are free from any need to work and financially you must be secured for the next few months. and away from people who care, especially parents, they just wont stop giving me food.

Answer

I find the opposite. When i am busy at work is the easiest time to fast. I feel it is mind over matter, you have to change your thoughts to something else. I think i could eat, but I’d rather lose weight, so i move on to something else.
