Fasting for bulging disc (sciatica) pain relief?

Has anyone experienced pain relief doing this?

Meds, PT, cortisone, and other conservative measures have failed.

I already do IF, and have done some longer fasts in the past.

Answer

Both my disc pain and sciatica is greatly diminished and often gone altogether when I’m fasting but this is also accomplished simply by eating keto because it’s the inflammation from carbs that increases the pain.

Answer

I’ve got it and maybe? Never really thought about it. I was fine with my fasts earlier in the year.

I am obese and am doing a heavy lifting workout too so perhaps I can’t be considered a definitive answer on it. But my assumption/hope is that any weight loss will be beneficial because I hate when it flairs up. Not sure if your situation is the same as mine.

Answer

I have a pinched nerve and I did everything but fast to address it. The third day of this fast my pain was diminished by at least 60%. The remainder is still there and I’m on day six now. What I do for the pain is apply 3 drops of DMSO in a tiny amount of coconut oil and smooth over the painful areas. It works for about six hours. I have to be careful to not do things that will cause it to flare up as it will just set me back on healing. I still have the numbness in my arm and fingers. But at least I’m not gritting my teeth in pain.

Hope you feel better soon.
