fasting while being "addicted" to junk food and sugar...

I really want to start fasting because I need to detoxify my body asap. I have mostly inflammatory illnesses and i need to cleanse, i cannot wait any longer. im kinda already sure that im gonna feel sick and tired because of the sugar withdrawals etc. but i gotta do what i gotta do. i already have prepared pink himalayan salt, magnesium with electrolytes, mineral water and black coffee. i wanna do at least 4 days but my goal is 7 days. wish me luck! any motivation (example: your story with first prolonged fasting) would be appreciated.

Answer

Hint, get into ketosis for three or four days prior. Set yourself up for success.

It can be done without this but it’s fasting and breaking your addiction ie detoxing at the same time. It’s rough and it needn’t be.

If my personal experience is of any value, I’ve found that since I’ve incorporated somewhat regular fasting into my life (a single fast of 36-40h, sometimes longer, per week) I just don’t find fast food enjoyable anymore.

I have no idea why this is, but it’s definitely not just my mind playing tricks. I’ve become even more sensitive to food (I’m already very sensitive) and I just feel like shit after eating any kind of fast food or even just processed food.

It just doesn’t appeal to me anymore. I definitely have less cravings for any kind of processed foods and I genuinely don’t enjoy eating them (though I still do it from time to time to remind myself of the fact that I don’t enjoy eating them, haha … human memory is imperfect, what can you do).

Just try to stick with it for a month or so. You may find everything gets significantly easier and better once you’re past the first hurdles. Good luck!

Fasting might be really difficult for you if you’re really addicted to sugar. I would start with keto for a few weeks, eat bacon and cheese until you are full and you can reduce the fats or try fasting after your body gets over the sugar addiction.

Answer

Great goal, just understand, you might have a bad time. Youre likely going to go through the “Keto flu” So I’d google that so you are prepared.

I do rolling 72’s and only did one 120 hour fast so I can’t help much with that.

If it doesn’t work out, Id look into getting fat adapted.

Best of luck.

Answer

Sugar withdrawal will make you sleep way more hours than usual on the first days. Nothing to worry about, just plan accordingly. Keep yourself busy and distracted. If you like videogames such as Touhou, then playing them while fasting is optimal. I went cold turkey into my first fast to lose all my weight (I had been doing IF before, but that’s it) and found out that playing Touhou helped me get through the most difficult days.

Answer

you have no idea how excited i am. i had my last junk meal today and i felt terrible. i had to eat that because it was my birthday and i went to enjoy it with my friends. never again. i also gained a lot of weight i dont even wanna know how much but definitely around 7 kg for sure.

Answer

I have the same issue when I don’t fast for awhile. I have the best luck eating heavy at night and skipping breakfast, then omad, then eventually skipping the whole day. Most people it’s the other way around so just find what works for you.
