Found this to be interesting: https://sohasherwani.medium.com/ramadan-has-made-me-realize-i-eat-when-im-bored-461981a38248 Fasting has helped me personally with food addiction. Anyone else?
Yes same here! At some point in me life food as became my companion, I eat when hunger, when bored, sad, angry, happy and emotionally messed up! It’s how I suppress my feelings. And now that’s Ramadan I always realize how good is dominating big part of my daily life. I know I have issues with food because it’s like I’m trying to fill a void in my life with food.
I’ve found it very effective for overcoming addiction in general. For one thing, fasting is great for disconnecting from the material world and getting in touch with God, and when you fast He is better able to fill you with his strength.
Also, simply changing up your routine - e.g. skipping all your meals for a few days – can be enough to knock you out of some bad habits.
