Feeling hungover after 36 hour fast

Hi Folks, I’m curious about others experiences. I’ve been doing 16:8 to 20:4 for the past couple months everyday. I decided to try a 42 hour fast. The first 34 hours was great, I had energy, and was able to drink water to relieve my hunger feelings. But I woke up at 5am (34 hours in) feeling absolutely terrible. I felt hungover, my stomach hurt with cramps, and my head hurt. I decided to make an egg to eat but it didn’t feel good going down so had a piece of sprouted grain toast (with butter) instead. That helped but I felt hungover all morning. Then I ate a normal lunch (raw cucumber, red pepper, open faced turkey sandwich on sprouted grain bread with mayo, two green olives and a small piece of chedder cheese at about 1pm and started feeling terrible again with stomach cramps and diarrhea (sorry probably TMI!).

What am I doing wrong? I’m now scared to try an extended fast again but I’m confused because I hear people talk about multiple day fasts much longer than that.

Any perspectives are greatly appreciated.

Answer

Next time just ride out the wave, you would have felt better hours, days later. Unless you had to wake up early for work etc

I had a bit of cold during the start of my current fast, but after 72 hours I’m feeling a lot better and dressing up with warmer clothes
