First 72hr fast

hi everyone.

I’m going into my first extended fast. I’ve fasted for 16h before and felt fine as long as I’m busy.

After reading the main threads and doing some research I’ll be taking electrolytes and it will be as follow.

4g of Baking Soda 3g of Potassium 400mg of Magnesium

the baking soda and the potassium will be added to a 2L bottle of water to be sipped through the day. The Magnesium will be 2 pills of 200mg each, on in the morning and at the evening.

I’ll drink mint tea or black tea as a complement during the day.

Since I’ve never done it for this amount of time is there anything else I should add or remove?

Thanks in advance.

I don’t know about the electrolyte measurements. I use pills from Amazon called fasting pills. They have the ingredients added correctly. Honestly, I think a pinch of salt in the morning in your mouth followed by a drink of water and maybe a few magnesium pills will be fine for a 72 hr fasr.

If you drink through the day, the mixture you described omg wow. It tastes awful. Keep reading here how other people do it.

I made the mistake of doing the powder formula and drinking most (instant bathroom run) be carefill with the electrolytes and portions, etc.

Otherwise, good luck. Reddit forum and app tracking help me push through.

I did not like the salt water concoction. I drank until I found a better way.

A couple of alternatives:

Salt under your tongue every couple of hours. Magnesium in pill form. Skip the Potassium unless you have muscle cramps.

Salt is the ‘gateway’ electrolyte followed by magnesium. Taking Salt under your tongue uses the paratial glands to absorb salt into your body thus skipping the saltwater diarrhea plan.

I strat long fasts by having lunch before 2 pm and skipping the next 2 days of dinner. This gives me day 3 to ease into dinner. Just a suggestion

Good fasting! Keep us posted.
