Greek yogurt is like concentrated yogurt, whereas greek style they add a thikening agent ragher than concentrating it (or so i understand. Could be wrong). Does anyone know if there is much difference in fat/protein etc?
I don’t find greek style yogurt in the US except Greek Gods Greek yogurt (style) Google shows links from Australia and UK.
I think this will help: https://www.yogurtinnutrition.com/greek-or-greek-style-yogurt-whats-the-difference/
Lack of definition between types of Greek yogurt.
Looks like consumers like thicker yogurt, so they strained the whey out, so there’s less protein.
Some also have thickener. Maybe because consumers like creamier texture. (I see this “creamy texture” emphasized in ads all the time)
So I think the only way to check is seeing how much protein is in a serving. Greek Gods Greek yogurt only has 7-8g of proteins. Great Value and other Greek yogurts have 14-18g.
Greek Gods brand is kosher btw.
