24-36 hours is really not a long time to lose much weight. Some people lose weight in a few days due mostly to glycogen stores depletion depending on how high carb of a diet you’ve had. Beyond the first week tho, you shouldn’t expect more than 1 pound per day per 200 pounds, healthily.

If you’re doing longer fasts you need to load up on fiber on your feed days (controversial as it’s away from keto?) I’m not an expert by any means but that helps me because the biggest foe I have on these is constipation which means I can’t really tell my progress for some time and it makes me feel bloated

Answer

Depends on my nutrition going into the fast. If I’m in ketosis, I might lose a bit less than a pound in that time. If I go in dirty (full of carbs), I could drop5-10lbs easy (but it will come back)

But no matter what, in the long run - it’s an average of 3/4lbs a day on a fast. And that’s what you need to focus on - the long term trend

Thank you for posting this. I do not see my weight go down on 23-36 hour fasts, either. For context, I’m at the high end of a healthy weight for my height. I eat vegan, so pretty much a carbaterian. Something about my body holds tightly onto water, I guess? In previous experiments with fasting, I would see big swings down that would go back up a bit after I started eating again. That made more sense to me than keeping the same weight while I eat nothing.
