I migrated from /Fasting and I seem to have trouble with the same issues other women seem to be having. I fast with my husband and it doesn’t effect him like it effects me, I can’t seem to make it past 3 days (and barely that).
I was reading about the Fasting Mimicking Diet, although I am not quite sold it works as well as a water only fast, I am wondering if it would be easier to do the FMD for 1-3 days at the beginning of a water only fast.
Would an initial FMD help ease into it? I plan on planning out my re-feeding days so i dont over eat.
Dr. Jason Fung recommends a fat fast leading in to a fast to get the body primed for ketosis almost right out of the gate. I’m trying it next go-around hoping it gets me over the hump. His site has a quick start guide .PDF with a list of appropriate foods and a general approach - he recommends water fasting thereafter. It’s a bit like FMD without the investment.
