Help with nutrition lable on black olives.

https://imgur.com/a/2nDKa1x

I buy these olives pretty regularly from a local middle eastern market but the label makes no sense.

Compared to a regular 100 gram serving of black olives, the protein content is about 5 times more and a whopping 99% less sodium.

How is this possible?

Answer

Yeah, no. There is negligible protein in olives and nothing within the ingredient list to increase protein. I would report it through the FDA https://foodcomplaint.fsis.usda.gov/eCCF/ In the mean time, I would log Olives using the general source: https://fdc.nal.usda.gov/fdc-app.html#/food-details/1103680/nutrients

Answer

Please report it like the other redditor said.

It’s common for producers to put in phony numbers to bypass the nutrition label. Happens with imported products in ethnic markets all the time. One time I see the total calories from all macros is above the calories on the label. 😨

On second thought, we’re lucky to be in the US where government cares about health.
