How long?

How long was it until people saw the effects of a fast? I have been doing it for around 7 days now, and my weight hasn’t shifted. Does it take a little while for my body to adjust and then start burning the fat and losing? Doing clean fasting as well.

Started on 16:8 and have varied it with a couple of longer eating windows. Have not put exercise in as of yet as I was trying to get into the routine of the fasting and making the right food choices. But I’m going to slowly start introducing it now.

I’ve been drinking black coffee and water in fasts. And drinking around 1.5L to 3L of water a day. I tend to eat 2 meals, sometimes 3 in my eating window. I use my fitness pal and i am tracking my calories and eating around 1400-1500 a day.

It can take time. It took me about a month before I began shedding lbs. I also do 16:8 but incorporate 30-50 minutes of cardio 4-5 days per week and weights every other day. I encourage you to stick with it and give it time and try to incorporate some exercise with it. Even if it’s just walking 30 minutes each day. It will work. Best of luck to you on your journey :)

I saw an immediate change on the scale and in my face, like in the first 2 weeks. Then I stalled… I am thinking it has to do with a few things. First off, I went from a pretty terrible diet and ate consistently 9 AM to 10 PM before, so I think those first two weeks were just a loss in water weight / bloat. Once I switched to 16:8 and then 18:6, I think my body was probably like “is this real or just a fluke?.” Bodies are weird, stick with it and you’ll see change.

Two other things to note: even once you start seeing the change you’re working toward, there will be very frustrating moments of no change / even some weight gain. The loss isn’t linear but again, if you stick with it through those frustrating times, change will come!

The second thing is that if you’re a woman who menstruates, which week you’re in in your cycle has a very frustrating impact on bloat / weight water and what you see on the scale. Don’t let it discourage you!
