Answer

I follow the government recommendations. So about 50% carbs, 30% fat and 20% protein. A lot of unsaturated fats (canola oil to all the haters out there) and vegetables and fruits. I am eating varied like weekly seafood, lean and fat meat, vegetarian alternatives. Always choosing wholegrain alternatives and keeping added sugar to a minimum. I also eat daily low fat dairy products.

My government has a one pager with these type of recommendations that is really easy to follow.

Improve: drink less monster energy drinks, but I think im doing great do it is a small treat for me. You got to live a bit as well.

I eat 5 times a day. 3 meals and two snacks. Also, I eat more than 2 lbs. of non starchy colorful vegetables daily. Along with that I have lean protein such as chicken, ground turkey or salmon. I eat healthy fats as well with every snack and meal. Usually olive oil but also avocado or pistachios and almonds. Twice a day I will eat blueberries, blackberries and a little pomegranate. The only grains I consume are a small bowl of steel cut oats at breakfast. Otherwise breads and other grains are off limits. My total daily calorie consumption is ~1500 per day. I take a blood test measuring aa/epa which measures inflammation and my numbers are always very good.

Answer

I eat almost entirely food that was raised down the street from me. Feels good to support the local economy and be friends with the person who provides you nourishing food. I eat mainly beef and some ferments, because I believe meat to be what we mainly sought out evolutionary and since eating this way have put a number of health issues into remission. I believe in eating Whole Foods and staying away from processed food. I’m not here to shame peoples diets. If you wanna eat plant based I think you can do what you think fits you. I’m constantly learning and open to many ideas about diet, but this past few months has been a huge learning experience and I truly think that our diet should be our medicine.
