I am about 11 days in and my mental clarity....wow!

I have finally taken the plunge after almost eating this way for years now. Finally being deliberate about using the “Zero” app and making sure to also track my calories. I do a combo of 16:8 or 18:6 depending on the day and I have to say….my brain feels SO much clearer already. I was really struggling with my thoughts and focus for work, etc.

I cannot wait to see what other benefits start to show themselves as time goes on. Anything you’d like me to know I would also really appreciate! I have read through the wiki and done tons of research but personal stories and testimonials are powerful.

I do at least two 36 hour fasts a week. I was surprised after about 6 months that I no longer had anxiety issues. I even was able to stop my anxiety meds and never needed them again. I lost a ton of weight, but the other benefits far outweigh the weight loss.

I also wanna take the plunge again because I gained some weight during these past two years when I was already trying to lose some, and I remember that the times I’ve managed to be consistent with 16:8, 18:6, 20:4 or OMAD I felt amazing. I have a chronic illness and fasting was recommended by my doctors, so I still fast for 12 hours or so. I managed to keep my symptoms in check and my mental health improved radically. My headaches lessened, I barely have stomach issues and I never get sick. I haven’t even had covid yet, so overall health improvements are also part of the package. There are positive studies about IF, autophagy and cancer out there too :) I wish you luck with your journey!

Btw, can I ask how are you tracking your calories? They always drive me nuts.
