IF weight lifters, when should I lift?

I’m new to IF and I normally go to the gym in the mornings for my lifts. However, I noticed that my lifts have been subpar and I feel really dizzy since starting IF. Would it be better to wait til I had my first meal and then hit the gym?

This may seem like a silly question but do you drink what during your fast?Try lifting after you break your fast and observe whether you feel different.
Make sure that you’re eating enough during your window and get enough iron (it’s affected my workouts before).

Answer

When I lift in the AM I don’t eat prior, that would make me sick. Instead I drink a sf preworkout and take essential amino acids (Kion EAAs sold online are really good). I then drink electrolytes during my workout (make sure they contain a good amount of salt and water). The EAAs give me killer non stop energy and motivation all day long, sometimes too much energy and stamina that no matter how long or hard I workout I can’t get tired ha ha I guess that’s a good thing, after my lift (usually sometime after 1 pm, sometimes later) I break my IF with a smoothie & fruit and shortly after a protein packed meal. The sf pre workout , EAAs , and sf electrolytes some might say break my fast however Im not completely sure as the cals are zero to low for them

Answer

I lift before breaking fast. Take a pinch of salt and drink more water if you get dizzy. Do less head nodding motions.

After you fat adapt lifting should not be too hard to do faster. Really fast cardio can super tire you out though.

Answer

The best time to lift is when you feel your best and can consistently fit it into your schedule. Experiment with when/where/how your nutrition should land in relation to that. Fasted, fed, or minimally fed are all options and folks prefer them for all sorts of reasons.
