Info request: Why does drinking water increase hunger when fasting?

I’m not a dry faster (yet), I mostly lurk here for info, I am however in full support of the dry fasting movement.

I have noticed that when I’m water fasting, especially in the first three days, if I drink 500ml or more of water at once, I will get intense hunger pains for about an hour.

Does anyone have any sources to info on why this happens? Do you guys and gals have anecdotal evidence of this happening to you?

Answer

This is anecdotal but I believe it’s because your body knows it can’t process food without water. When you dry fast your bodies priority is water so your thirsty but not hungry. Once you start drinking again then your body triggers hunger.

Answer

I feel even drinking water turns on all the digestive enzymes or atleast the gut movement… That’s we fell hell lot of hungry… I am so happy that I found dry fasting… Water fasting was like a penance
