I want to fast Monday afternoon until Friday afternoon every week, and then eat on weekends. Is this too much or is that safe?
I did this for almost 2 months straight. Then I wondered why my motivation dropped off. After more research I found out 72 to 96 hour fast is fine every once in awhile like every few months. Outside of that though if you do it often it puts a lot of stress on your adrenal glands.
If you are attempting it for weight loss which would be the reason I’m guessing you want to do them every week, I’ve heard it’s a better idea to do every other day fasting instead to avoid over stressing your adrenals.
I’ve done it before and didn’t die, aways with electrolytes. While there may be benifits to longer fasts I usually don’t go over 48 hrs now adays. It is nice to throw in a 5 day once awhile just for discipline sake.Most important thing I think is to listen to your body.
