Kinda messed up - first 36hr fast then went off the rails

This was my first 36 hours. After 2 months on IF life and it really was a miss for me.

I broke fast earlier than I’m used to eating (boiled eggs and Turkey bacon for breakfast). Then continued to eat throughout the day until 9pm. 12 hours. Made pizza. Ate pie. Drank wine.

Either I do 36 hours again tomorrow to get on track (but the maybe go off track again) or just dig into 18-20hour routine again. And hopefully curb the binge.

I haven’t lost much weight so far. I’m still figuring out the lifestyle, and trying to be easy on myself.

i skipped a day of fasting today, went in on a vegetable cream cheese bagel at a meeting this morning then waited it out until I took lunch at 2:30. Back on it now fasting since 8pm. Ease into it, 16:8 or 14:10. Fuck it you could even do 12:12 and just find what works best. One day at a time

It is the norm for it to go exactly like that, the first time you try. Then making some adjustments and trying again, and again, until something clicks. In doing so, here is what I would keep in mind:

  1. If insulin issues, a huge tip is avoiding liquid plant oils. (which would mean making all baked goods from scratch, or eliminate from diet along with rest of processed foods that contain them.)
  2. If you already did this for 2 months, it may be a case where you simply need to down-adjust the carbs a tiny bit, in order to fast easily for longer.

(Bonus tip, try putting exercise and mental stress-factors on pause, when attempting big steps like this.)
