I don’t know if this is the right place to post this but I’m going to try, I’m looking into finding a good artificial sweetener that isn’t too artificial, I know that most stevias have dextrose in it, and I know that dextrose leads to weight gain, or is this true? What is the best sweetener I can use that isn’t full of chemicals and ideally doesn’t have dextrose if that’s the case.
Equal tastes the best to me.
It’s mainly Aspartame, which is the most studied sweetener. So it’s probably one of the best in terms of safety profile.
Other artificial sweeteners aren’t as good in terms of the gut microbiome and changes to glycaemic response.
Not all Stevia contains dextrose. It is often added to dilute the potency of Stevia. Dextrose can spike blood sugar, but to my knowledge, it does not directly cause weight gain. I consume Stevia on a daily basis, I just don’t get the kind with Dextrose.
Dextrose does not lead to weight gain. The only thing that leads to weight is is consuming too many calories.
Some fine options for artificial sweaters are: Aspartame, sucralose, stevia, erythritol, monk fruit sweetener, and quite a few more that I don’t remember.
Also, unless you have some disease or a harsh reaction to these artificial sweeteners, then there is really no problem with consuming them in moderation… even if they’re “chemicals”. Water is a chemical. Everything good you eat contains chemicals.
Most of the sweeteners that are out have been proven to be relatively safe, even if they are completely artificial
