I have fasted in the past. Longest waterfast was 14 days. Did it strictly for weight loss before. But now I need to do it for healing reasons. I am doing keto for a few weeks, then carnivore for a few more to become fat adapted. Then I am going to launch into an open-ended water fast. Anyone want to do this with me, or anyone have experience doing a long waterfast for autophagy? I am trying to learn all the rules about how to trigger autophagy and how to continue to get my electrolytes in without interrupting that. My reasons for wanting to do autophagy… I have cancer worries, especially skin cancer. I also have lots of loose skin from weightloss, inflammation in my joints, a leaky gut, and some damage done to my breasts and my chest from a fall. I just need a tune up. ;) Time for my bod to fix itself. Any advice would be great!
I’d be happy to join you but I’m not sure I could go for as long as you have in the past; this would be my first fast so maybe two days would suit me initially!
The thought of hair loss isn’t super appealing either 😅 although I know this wouldn’t be an issue for me after only two days.
