What is something you have refused to give up while still having success with IF? I read so much about people eating totally clean, cutting carbs, cutting sugar, dairy etc…would love to hear from the folks out there who have found success while still letting themselves indulge a little!
Sweet & salty granola bar! I have one every afternoon with a chocolate coffee protein shake. Our office is over run with snacks (there are probably 5 different types of cookies currently in the kitchen) and keeps me out of that stuff knowing I have that coming. Fits in my calories though
Cake. I’ve been a home baker since I was 12 and I refuse to give that up since baking is therapeutic to me. Plus I make everything from scratch, which makes eating the cake I made more special and rewarding.
For me, ‘clean’ is avoiding processed oils entirely. This is my only hard rule.
On occasion a break this rule by eating chocolate. (I go for the pricey ones, but even those have around 1% soy/corn-based emulsion breaker in them, which is separated from the oil itself, but there must still be residue oil and phyto-estrogens in it.)
What I should do, is buy cocoa butter online, and make my own chocolate 😋
(Note to self!!)
Carbs and sugars. I applaud people who can cut out those things because they are much stronger than I. I love pretzels and french fries and cookies and pastries waay to much to let go of them. Progress might be a littler slower, but it’s worth it if I can continue to enjoy the things I like. The other day I went to a bakery I hadn’t gone to in years and went absolutely crazy ordering anything that looked good, ate what I wanted, and had a good time. I probably ate most of what I had bought by the end of the day (lol) but I didn’t see a single lapse in my progress. ,
It’s not something I didn’t give up but something I incorporated again with some major changes. It’s cheesecake! It’s sweetened with bananas, containing protein shake powder, and psyllium husk. It’s not something tasty for people eating sugar. The “s” word was mentioned and not for “superb” but for “shit.” Lol. Oh, well, I like it!
