I’m trying to learn the basics on nutrition and eating well but it seems like most official recommendations are outdated/discredited and there’s so much crap online (either pushing specific diets or just adding confusion). Makes it look like there’s no consensus on anything, but come on - it’s 2022! There must be some agreement, at leas on the basics…
Where do I start? What are the best resources for currently accepted theories or models for nutrition, healthy eating, weight loss etc.?
Plus points if free and plus points for single resources that go deep.
I recommend a podcast called The Genius Life! The host Max is great, but it’s his guests that will have you rewinding point after point. Mostly nutritional science stuff, but also some mental health topics as well. Show moves quick.
The most reliable source of all is nutritionfacts.org
Then there are all the government agencies.
You will see that most of them have a very similar message: eat real food, mostly plants, not too much.
Broken down:
no processed foods
limit animal foods as much as possible
don’t stuff yourself
Skip most podcasts, broscience, unqualified “nutrition enthusiasts” talking about stuff they never formally studied.
There is broad, consistent and overwhelming agreement from every single health organization on the planet about what to eat and what to limit/avoid.
Look up any country’s guidelines and compare with another. They are like 90% identical.

Where’s the disagreement OP? Where are you getting your data/sources? Guidelines look incredibly similar to me…
