I am a 59 yr old female, post menopausal, with barely controlled Hashimoto’s. A year and a half ago, i went on snake diet and lost 14 pounds my first and only month. I was thrilled. I am 5’5” and weigh 209 lbs now.
When I ate again, in my feed window, my unknown about diverticulitis flared up. I ended up in the hospital for 12 days, had 6 inches of my large colon removed. It was horrible.
I had a 6 cm infected pouch in my colon that did not bust, but was close. I had insurance. Surgery and treatment was nearly a 100 grand. I have no health insurance nowadays.
I am kinda scared to go back on snake diet. Advice? I feel like I am dead as a fat ass anyway.
Why not give the spam and pickles diet a try? You can use other kinds of fatty meats like pepperoni slices, some beef brats or bacon. It’s keto on steroids and might be all you need without going to the extremes of the snake diet. If you feel like it it add in some intermittent fasts or 24 hour fasts while you build confidence back in your fasting ability.
