Should I be worried?

So I’m on my 5th day of my fast. I just woke up and I feel like my muscles recovering from a workout but I haven’t worked out. I also feel shaky and and have a little bit of headfog. Does this mean my muscles are being used for fuel more than life fat? And should I be concerned with the tingling in my fingers?

Could be a number of things but a basic question would be, how much salt, potassium and magnesium are you taking in each day? Tingling in the fingertips could possibly be low b12. If you were running in any deficiencies before fasting, they would now be more pronounced. Also, drink plenty of water and cut down on caffeine.

Answer

I’m no expert by any means but I heard some people talk about eating like a pinch of salt, since your body uses it fast or something. I have also heard sometimes sucking on a lemon slice can help. You can get very very very low amounts of nutrients that won’t affect your fast, but could help subside the discomfort. You’ll get a little bit of fat, some salt, a decent amount of potassium, little bit of carbs and sugar, fiber, vitamin c, and the slightest bit of iron. The amounts you will get is literally in the .001g - .01g maybe a little higher if you really gnaw at it and get every drop. However on a long fast that little tiny bit could help out a lot.

Edit: if you are so strict that liquid nutrients and maybe a stringy piece or two from the lemon slice absolutely kills your fast, then my next advice would be just to stop for a day or two, why be uncomfortable?
