Starbucks ground vanilla flavored coffee, does this break my fast?

Still new to IF and I’m trying my best to stick to it as perfectly as I can. My question is, does a flavored ground coffee that really does not taste flavored actually break my fast? We got used to drinking it at home cause it’s a lighter roast and It’s not as bitter as a regular black coffee, but it’s sure as heck not sweet. Anybody have any experience with this?

Answer

Coffee flavoring is actually a flavored oil that gets sprayed on the beans after they are roasted. I used to roast coffee but I don’t know exactly what was in the stuff. A quick google search said that propylene glycol is often used as the carrier for the flavor components. Propylene glycol has 4 calories/ gram. I’d say you are probably safe with this, a little of that flavoring oil goes a long way.
