Hey so I started a dry fast with a water fast at first, and then after 10 hours I took my last sip of water and transitioned over to a dry fast. My question is, I’ve done 1 day dry fasts in the past before while water fasting, but never have I gone longer than 24 hours of dry fasting.
Right now I’m 50 hours into this current dry fast and plan on going up to 5 days. I’ve been researching what I should be breaking my dry fast with, and a lot of people have suggested to use baking soda with water before, and after breaking the fast. Unfortunately I missed this memo and spontaneously delved into this dry fast, when originally I planned on water fasting only. Dry fasting just felt more right at the time. Anyways, I wanted to know if my kidneys will be okay if I decided to break the fast and then use the baking soda afterwards, or if I should just end it now and re-try after starting with baking soda first. Thanks in advance!
Baking soda is really something not many people do. To alkalize your body a little use lemons or lemon water. You’ll feel what you need. And you won’t feel any baking soda cravings
You’re going from a water to a dry fast, so be ready for some electrolyte instability. Usually dry to water is recommended. But nothing critical here
Hi, well first off congrats!! I want to say I am not a medical professional in any way just speaking from my experiences. I just started a dry fast doe the second time ever…my family lives doing it for 7 days I’m going for 5 days only done 3 in the past. I used to do way longer water fast. I have never tried ending with baking soda but 1st thing is just reintroducing water itself. you could even by water that already has sodium bicarbonate. By basically o just go for a day after with just water and then break my water fast how I normally would….bone broth, pickle juice, just all depends on length of time. Good luck.
