I’m sure there’s a “first day post” every Monday here.. but I appreciate the comraderie here, especially since people don’t necessarily understand the IF lifestyle.
I’ve done this before with some success, but I gave in to cravings. This time I’d like to reach my goals! Here’s the stats:
36F - Married, mom of 3, working full time SW: 264 GW: 150 Underlying conditions: Prediabetic (possibly diabetic as my A1C was .1% away from diabetic), GERD
I plan on starting the day with black coffee, hydrating during my fasting period, then eating between 1500-1900 Mon-Sat, no restrictions on Sunday. I’m also trying to figure out how often I should do longer term fasts (48-72 hours to trigger autophagy) to get rid of excess skin(would love some input here). I intend to transition to OMAD by Jan. A few days a week I walk a mile.
TL;DR First day on 20:4 to lose 110lbs. Looking for info on long term fasts to get rid of excess skin.

I started off at 16:8 but I’ve worked myself up to 24 hour fasts in only 20 days. I’ve been tracking with the loseit! app. I am letting my body decide what it wants but I’m keeping my calories under 1500.
I don’t have any info since I’m new to IF but I can offer comeraderie.

I also started with 20:4 and it was just fine. But I would recommend shifting your eating a bit earlier if you can so more of your fast is during your sleep. Also remember that even zero calorie sweet drinks can spike insulin just from your body tasting the sweetness 🙂
