Stevia in the Raw contains dextrose. According to Google dextrose can spike glucose, defeating the benefit of a non-sugar sweetener. Erythritol seems benign. Is this accurate?
Dextrose literally is glucose and it’s half of take sugar, but how much does stevia have in it and how much stevia are you using? It may be a very small amount of dextrose you’re actually ingesting, making it not a big deal.
All artificial and “natural” sweeteners like erythritol and stevia are not recommended for several reasons. For one, they confuse the brain because the brain registers sweetness and thinks they will be receiving calories, but there are no calories that come in, which lead to the person overeating and overcompensating later on. In addition, they train the brain to expect and adjust to a sugary taste, so that you are always craving sugar and can’t adjust to a less sweet taste.
