Thinking of starting

So long story short. I tried a few days a week fasting when I was doing CrossFit a few years ago. I pretty much was in okay shape and sticking around 200lbs.

Covid and a back injury I am up in weight and just having a hard time breaking the bad habits. Follow my macros then blow it on the weekend. What effect will a 16:8 mixed with a macro diet have? Is IF a everyday fasting or can it be done X amount a days a week ( had a coach say that was okay to do)

Answer

Many people on here, myself included, have been intermittent fasting every day, or mostly every day for years. I’m on year three - and I burn about 1000 calories a day through exercise (powerlifting and aerobics/running) - frequently working out in a fasted state to no ill effect. Some people do follow on/off cycles in a week, but I personally find it much easier with daily consistency. You can follow whatever eating program you want in addition, IF is really just about when you eat, not what/how much you eat.
