Someone with little to zero discipline (that I’m trying to work on) On the moments when you’re over whelmed , sad or just want to give up and have a bite to eat.
As someone who is currently on day 7 of their fast, I’ll be more than happy to share what’s helped me through my fasting journey. First things first, make sure you get your proper intake of essential electrolytes such as Sodium, Potassium, and Magnesium. Not only is this going to ensure that you’re safely doing your fast, but it will also help keep your energy levels up which will make the entire experience easier in the long run.
Secondly, when it comes to the mental part of things, whenever you feel like you may be faltering, try to keep yourself pre-occupied. This can be done by watching shows, or movies, learning a new skill or creating something new in terms of art. You can also spend time with family or friends as well. One of my favorite ways to stay on track is by coming to reddit and seeing posts of people who have completed the same goal I’m wishing to achieve, or watching others on YouTube who’ve done such as well. This Lets you know that your goal is attainable in the long run, and usually people share their tips and tricks in their posts/videos.
Always remember, the food is never going to go anywhere, it will always be in abundance, but your health is not. It requires immediate attention, and proper care in order to age gracefully. Good luck on your 7 day fast, I hope everything goes smoothly for you!
If you look up the fasting fatman on youtube I think he did an OMAD plan for a few weeks before starting his 30 day fast… which turned into a 150 day fast. Maybe try OMAD for a bit to get yourself in the right headspace and shift your metabolism a bit?
