Weight training -- Timing on OMAD

Hi guys, need some advise on this. I have been doing OMAD pretty much for the past couple of years, and have never stopped lifting. I find myself varying the time of the day for lifting based on personal commitments, but never miss it.

However, I have been reading/watching videos that say you need to eat within an hour of lifting or such and such might happen. I personally haven’t felt that, even on days when I lift at 9:00 and eat at close to 6:00 PM later that day. I am not worried about conditioning days when I just do cardio in the morning and wait till the evening to eat. Its only the lifting days that are kind of nagging me a bit.

I do go hard at the gym and though I am not feeling hungry or tired ( in fact, most days I feel like I can go longer but only stop because I have to get back to work). Am I missing out on my muscle gains by delaying the feed cycle. I really don’t want to eat in the morning because once I break the fast I keep going to the kitchen to grab a snack or a drink. When I eat at 6:00 PM, I only have two hours before hitting the sack, so I can’t do much harm to myself munching on garbage.

Any suggestions please?

Answer

I lift some too, but in all honesty I’m just doing it to burn more calories than I take in and to get into a better shape so I wouldn’t know anything about gains.

Most people doing IF usually post here about issues like sudden fatigue and nearly passing out when combining IF with workouts, but I personally never seen anyone here trying to combine muscle gains with IF.

I do know of a fellow IF Crew member doing boxing though, maybe he got something helpful to your situation.
