Will this one change make a difference??

I essentially already do IF (unintentionally) however I start my mornings with two cups of tea with two tsp of sugar and some milk in each cup. Then I don’t eat until around 1/1:30pm. If I were to drink those two cups of tea black would I see results? 31yr 5’ 139lbs

Answer

The sugar would definitely break my fast.
2 tsp of sugar is 33 cal and 30 mL of milk is 22, and that’s if you aren’t sneaking in more sugar.
The two cups would roughly be 110 calories, too much for me.
Your body may react differently.

Any change will see results over time. Will you drop massive amounts of weight? No, but any reduction in calories will have an overall impact.

If we are simply talking calories then two teaspoons of sugar and (assuming) a tablespoon of milk per cup a day is about 16,00 calories over a year, which is around 4lbs. If you enjoy your sweet, milky tea then these calories are easy to offset with a small amount of activity or cutting elsewhere. Small changes add up but they usually aren’t worth stressing about. Everything is a trade off so figure out what’s worth it to you and do that. You’ll have the most success with what you are best able to stick to.

Answer

I would make the following adjustments:

Keep the tea, skip the sugar. Use unsweetened vanilla almond milk - low enough in calorie that even half a cup won’t pull you out of your fasting state, and the vanilla will give you that hint of sweetness. If it’s a chai type tea, add sweetness by steeping warm spices as well - cloves, cinnamon, cardamom.

Great flavors for the cold weather.
