I will start rolling 48 hours for the rest of the month. Maybe due 72 hours after this month. I weight around 325 pounds, I’m hoping to get around 170-180 before the year ends . I will be working out and doing sauna for 30m for 5 to 6 days. If you have any recommendations, let me know. If you weight around the 300+, and you did this. please let me know your experience.
hey, good on you.
I started on boxing day at 330lbs; 6’6”, 32y Male; did a week of 48s while my Snakerade ingredients came.
then went to town on 72s, (really 70/2s cause I like the set schedule) eating whatever I wanted for a couple hours.
after the first 48hrs of mental stress, it gets significantly easier to maintain the fast and I some days I didn’t want to stop at just 70 and then eating dinner and going to bed, seemed like a waste of perfectly good fasting hours while sleeping.
by Jan 26th I lost 30lbs and bumped it up a notch to 96s but after a week of that dropped down to a more manageable 88/8s but ate at a lower carb intake – felt stupid to get soo deep into Ketosis and then kick myself out every few days and put my body through that.
a couple days into that; my toddler brought home covid from preschool and my 4 year old, 2 year old, wife and me all got sick and I became complaisant to the desires of “just ordering pizza/mcdicks for dinner” and my willpower faltered.
one month later, we are all better, the snow is melted and I’m ready to get this fat ass back on the horse. I gained back to 300lbs, the amount I had at the end of the first month of 72s.
so here I am, on the cusp of something great, once more into the fray.
I was exactly 324 when I started the snake diet. Its hard, the first month for me was rough. I had the runs for the first couple weeks 48 hours in. After that, it feels easy and natural. I started working out, and within 3 month I was down to 260. I currently weigh in at 251 because I took a 6 month break and just started again a week ago or so. I will tell you the more you do it, the better it gets. You feel and look way better!
You can do it.
So i am approaching 48 hours soon. I am thinking of extending to 72 hours
This is my first fast in years! I would say don’t get crazy with the sauna. See how your body feels before you add sauna or exercises
I suggest you prioritize the fasting and get as much movement and exercise as possible but don’t force the exercise and get injured.
Always listen to your body and stay mentally strong and remember why you started fasting. Refeed with wholesome foods (whatever macros you decide) and keep the meals simple and as few processed carbs as possible. Processed carbs make the next fast harder with cravings and hunger pains.
My go to carbs is some fresh veg and a small handful of fresh berries. Good luck.
