76h in… trying not to let stressors in life influence me to give up my fast

Truth is, I’m not hungry. But I’m currently stressed out because of schoolwork, and sometimes when I’m stressed I fall into the trap of “snacking” or eating a meal out of boredom/stress.

Doing my best to not fall into that trap!

I’ve definitely learned from doing longer fasts that it’s not hunger, it’s emotional demons and unhealthy relationships with food that are the hardest battle. But that’s also why I like longer fasts so I can work on those issues, like stress snacking.

Try some walking or yoga or meditation to avoid eating when the stress urge hits. Good luck, you can overcome and hit your goal!

You’re doing awesome! I’m 16 hrs behind you. I think I know what you feel - I’ve felt a couple times after a couple busy days this week that I really could have a beer after work and watch trash TV to relax.

I’m finding ways of destressing like a bath or having a herbal tea with family helps so far.

The best way to fix that is to get rid of snacking for those reasons when you are not fasting. I used to be an afternoon snacker at work, which made those hours of a fast pretty horrible. Once I got rid of that snacking the fasts became easier.
