Has there ever been in any controversy behind the reputability of Great Value (Walmart brand) of foods? They tend to be cheaper and if they’re the same in every way as the brand name stuff I’d prefer that but I don’t know if I trust the accuracy of their nutrition and ingredients

No, There is general controversy about the reputability of all manufacturer’s labels but there is no reason to think that Walmart is any better/worse than the industry as a whole.

In my opinion they are one of the great nutritional bargains of our day and I consistently fail to understand why more people don’t take advantage of them. Consumer brainwashing, I guess. Walmart’s Great Value brand is, in fact, a great value. Now, not everything that Walmart sells under that label is equally healthy to you. Canned vegetables are still canned vegetables.
