Water in the tuna can nutritional value?

Pouring a can of tuna over some pasta. Include the water in the can or no?

Does it have nutritional value? Or is it a excess oil/fat that will work agains lean muscle growth?

Thanks.

Answer

It’s just water, so calorically, no difference. It may have some mineral value or water soluble nutrients from the tuna that would be the pros. The cons of course, is salt and preservatives. Most tins ask you to drain the water and provide nutrition facts of drained contents. I usually buy tinned fish in oil and almost always reserve the oil for bread dipping later.
