I recently just stumbled into it somehow.
During work week I already did intermittent fasting but I was still eating plenty of sugar and bread and stuff, so it clearly started to show weight wise.
So I started walking regularly, doing some body weight exercises (little by little increasing reps slowly just to make sure I continue doing them daily/ create the habit)
Then recently I decided to remove the sugars during the week and maybe some on weekends and I fell into this “routine” for myself of having a Keto OMAD and then 48hr fast.
So for example:
Monday: One meal in the evening (keto) after 7pm
Tuesday: fast
Wednesday: One meal in the evening (keto) after 7pm
Thursday: fast
Friday: One meal in the evening (keto) after 7pm
Saturday: eat whatever
Sunday: One meal in the evening (keto)
I feel good for the moment with this routine but I feel that on my OMAD days I may not be eating enough calories.
I am drinking water, and also sometimes coffee or tea but yeah.
I haven’t started to integrate any supplements or electrolytes yet either
So I guess any suggestions or advice you all may have, I would love to hear it!
Thanks!
I wouldn’t sweat the “too few calories” on OMAD days. Just
(1) calculate your TDEE HONESTLY, meaning be accurate in your exercise behaviors,
(2) eat your TDEE maintenance calories on eating days – don’t feast, and
(3) measure and count accurately for EVERYTHING you eat (easier to do w/ OMAD)
I keep almost the same schedule as you do* and follow this path. It works.
*I have trouble doing a true “OMAD” (too much to eat) so I stretch eating hours & the ADFs are 36-42hr.
