So I cook for our family of 4, two of which are toddlers, and I keep falling into the habit of basic tasting as you go. Our meals are rarely ever preprocessed food and are hot meals. I know I can kiss the meals, but I enjoying cooking and the kids rarely have the same meal(breakfast lunch and dinner).
I tend to batch cook, often when fasting. I use my sense of smell and don’t taste. I just made tikka masala and smelled it and thought it needed more cumin, added more and it was perfect.
You might enlist one of the kiddos as a taster. Or batch cook when your eating window is open.
