I am now on day 8. 13.4 pounds lost so far (at the end of 7 days).
I happen to have an infrared sauna in my house. Any thoughts about the pros/cons of using it on a water fast? Will it speed up weight loss and/or detoxification or could it be damaging in some way?
Dr Rhonda Patrick discusses some great research on saunas on her podcast: Found My Fitness.
Personally, while fasting, I have to be careful with my blood pressure when I stand up, and this is even more extreme in a sauna. Other than that, I need to stay EXTRA hydrated to replace that lost water.
It will have influence on water loss and maybe dehydration, but drink water. Ingest your electrolytes.
In general, that increased heat is gonna help increase circulation. Heart rate goes up. All good stuff.
Too hot for too long may sap energy, but it also may be a great thing in switching over to catabolic metabolism and possible insomnia.
Good job on 8 days!
