I’m a huge eater. To make a long story short, I used to train 6x a week 4-6 hours a day. I averaged 8000 calories a day for over 12 years. Now that I’m older and have stopped my training almost entirely (primarily from a shoulder injury and family as the new priority) the eating habits are still extremely hard for me to break. I don’t eat 8000 calories anymore of course, but I still eat way beyond the average person and it’s starting to make me naturally gain weight.
I’ve fasted a few times in the past and it felt great. I would like to do a longer watet fast period but would love some extra tips for combating hunger, but more importantly… The cravings. They are so much harder to combat than the hunger itself.
I don’t know if there are also some supplements that can help? Not sure if appetite suppressants are legit or not. Any advice would help.
Whats your bf% king? if you are still jacked your going to feel really rough while under ~20%bf on a long fast. I’m sure you’ve seen what kind of fasting the IFBB competition dudes endure. Bad news, not fun.
To your question though, my go-to anti hunger tool is dietary keto, I find if i start a fast already in strict dietary ketosis it makes the first days much easier, as opposed to starting with a liver full of glycogen. Never really get hungry so long as I have my salt.
