The reason I started fasting was bc I LOVE food. I’ll spend 24+ hours not eating just so I’ll have a perfect meal, and I mean PERFECT. My eyes start crossing, my toes curl up and I feel like I am about to levitate while eating that first few bites. I don’t even taste the food while I’m cooking, I get my roommate to tell me if it needs more salt. My question is anybody else feel this way or am I weird?…
I think food itself tastes amazing after fasting. It is as if your taste buds change.
I do ADF and the change seems to stay for the entire feast day.
But if I eat regularly for about 3 days or more the situation changes
YESSS food after fasting is the best. I find that the first bite of something is the best, next one is half as good, third one half as good as the second etc. Being mindful of that really helps keep overeating in check for me and remembering that saving leftovers for later when my appetite and senses are fully refreshed is such a win win.
I like that I can literally eat a cheeseburger, pizza, and fries after fasting for 23+ hrs and feel great. Everyday is like eating at a buffet when I break my fast! The protein shake and broth that I use to break my fast are like a euphoric delicacies when meal time comes.
Seems a bit odd to me in that you are describing food the way I would describe drugs or sex, but I do get that abstinence from certain foods makes them more intense. I’m always fascinated how sweet or salty foods taste after a fast. I fasted for 14 days a few years back and broke my fast with a strawberry which tasted like strawberry candy and when I did eat something with added sugar it was overly sweet to the point it was barely enjoyable. Good luck with your foodgasms 😉.
