Cole mentions various times throughout his YouTube videos the weight loss benefits of cold water baths / cold thermogenesis.
He recommends a one hour cold water bath.
He says for every 15 minutes you shiver, you burn 100 calories. There are also additional calories he factors in from the energy going from his body to the water, which warms the water up as a result.
He talks about it in detail in this video: https://youtu.be/QHEGO1vuQ5s
Anyway, I bring this up because I am curious if anyone here has attempted doing this on a regular basis and if it has yielded positive results. I’m considering adding this into my regimen for maximum weight loss efficiency. Thoughts?
I believe that for cold water exposure to have any effect on weight loss, it has to be at least 10 minutes continuous at a time. Apparently anything less has no effect. I see this as a way of “optimizing” weight loss, for example if you were going to take a bath anyway to wash off dust & sweat, might as well make it miserable and burn a few hundred calories.
