Do the hours you eat in matter?

Hello people. I used to fast and now considering getting back into. I had a question. Do the hours you eat in matter? I go to martial arts classes at night and they can end around 9. I heard it’s not good to eat late night around those times, esp if I’m going bed early. So I was thinking of doing something like 10-6 or 11-5, eating bigger meals during the day so I have enough energy. Is this feasible? Would it work okay? Would appreciate any help. Thank you.

Answer

A schedule is feasible if you can maintain it and it works with your work/school routine. You’re right that there’s meant to be a slight benefit to eating earlier and not eating right before bed so your schedule should be fine. There’s no equivalent downside to an earlier eating schedule except that you may feel slightly hungry before bed because you have run off that food energy and start converting to using stored fat. But it’s not like you’re stopping eating in the morning, if your last meal is at 6 you should be absolutely fine.
