I’m new to longer fasts so I’d like to know how everyone else uses coffee while fasting.
I just got through my first fast (65hrs, pretty happy with that) and relied on \~200ml of home made cold brew coffee each day, just like I normally do when not fasting.
I have read elsewhere that this might break the fast though? I am specifically looking for autophagy first, weight loss a far distant second, so the strength of the fast is important to me.
I figure cold brew is the safest bet - it’s literally just filtered water that you once soaked in coffee - but I was reading a few points of view last night that made it seem like this might have broken the full water fast?
FWIW I am a big advocate of cold brew coffee. You drink it black as almost all the bitterness is gone. It’s nothing like heated black coffee in that regard, there is no sugar or any sweetener in cold brew.
