Drinking coffee before starting Dry Fast

Is having a cup of coffee as “last meal” before starting a dry fast convenient? I’m not sure if it would be a boost or bring me down in the long run

Answer

Coffee makes you lose salt.Salt makes you hold water.
So coffee makes you lose water.
You can work around this by putting salt in your coffee.

Coffee kills your appetite, but only lasts 3 hours. The first 12 hours of a fast are the easy part. The first 48 are the hard part. Coffee is amazing in a wet fast as you can keep drinking it and keep suppressing hunger.

In other words, no I wouldn’t drink coffee.

Before a dry fast I would eat big and fatty - big enough to give a really good full feeling to satiate you and make you not think about food, and while you do it think about having a fast that goes completely smoothly and you do lots of things without even thinking about food - and have a lot of water.

The things to avoid are anything sugary or very carby that makes a big insulin spike - insulin spikes cause insulin resistance - insulin resistance causes you to seek food binges (as well as bad gut bacteria)
